It is a daily choice to turn our eyes from worthless things. Philippians 4:8 is my reminder.<br/>*What might you begin doing to make your Body Temple more holy for the housing of the Holy Spirit within you? I know 3 things speak to me clearly from what you said... first that we are so blessed to be temples of the Holy Spirit. How awesome to be the housing of our God and therefore to show respect by treating our bodies well especially in the areas of cleanliness, care, health, sleep, and proper nutrition. Secondly, I agree that each morning our nourishment comes from being hungry for the Word and being passionate about it. I love the Word because God speaks deeply and lovingly to me through it each day. Then the discipline of fasting came to mind because that is one way of making us pure and selfless and caring. I've found sometimes that when I start a fast I might meet resistance but as time goes on my mind and heart get focused and I'm hearing much more clearly from God. So for me- it is about putting away excuses and the " I'll start tomorrow" syndrome and completely yielding to my Father and his will for my life. Out of fear I choose to hybernate and hide...if I don't see the door the Lord is opening, I don't have to walk through. I can be safe and secure in my comfortable cave hybernating for the winter. I am tired of hiding, tired of hybernating and avoiding what the Lord has for me. I am choosing to look for the door with the light radiating through the cracks; to approach it, turn the knob and open wide the door the Lord is calling me to and walking through in faith. I find I am very aware of the doors the Lord is closing in my life but I fail to notice the ones He is opening. Out of fear I choose to hybernate and hide…if I don’t see the door the Lord is opening, I don’t have to walk through. I can be safe and secure in my comfortable cave hybernating for the winter. I am tired of hiding, tired of hybernating and avoiding what the Lord has for me.
